Executive summary of the licensing procedure of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) projects in Greece

According to the applicable legislation, the licensing procedure of RES projects could be summarized as follows:

Phase A’ includes the stages concerning the issue of the Electricity Production Certificate for the RES projects with capacity of up to 1 MW and the issue of Environmental Permitting (Environmental Terms Approval or Standard Environmental Conditions). 

Phase B’ includes the stages concerning the issue and acceptance of the Final Connection Offer, the secure of the land rights, the issue of the Installation License and Building License, the signing of the Grid Connection Agreement and the signing of the sale and purchase electricity contact depending on the support scheme, and finally the issue of the Operation Permit.
